BLUE VELVET (1986)

BODY DOUBLE (1984)
You could spend the next several hours cleaning off the gunk that's built up on your keyboard. Or, you could watch Brian De Palma's wildly entertaining cocktail of Hitchcock homage and pulp trashiness, the story of a down-on-his-luck actor (Craig Wasson) who pairs up with a porn queen (Melanie Griffith) to solve a murder.
THE BRINK'S JOB (1978)
Two and a half million bucks. That's what Peter Falk and his motley gang of criminal "masterminds" are after in William Freidkin's amiable suspenser, set in 1950's Boston. During location filming of "The Brink's Job," the production crew paid a man to remove an air conditioner from his window because it spoiled period detail. When the crew returned the next day, seemingly everyone in the building had an air conditioner in their window. Or so the story goes.
FRANTIC (1988)
He's duked it out with tomb raiders, chased down killer androids and escaped the clutches of giant space slugs. In this movie, Harrison Ford encounters his toughest challenge yet: the French. Riveting Hitchcock-like thriller set in Paris is a trip worth taking, thanks to Roman Polanski's trés magnifique storytelling.
THE FRESHMAN (1990)
Marlon Brando plays Don Corleone. That's the joke, and it's a great one, in this wonderfully off-the-wall comedy about a film student (Matthew Broderick) who encounters the inspiration for "The Godfather." And you've just gotta love Brando's Komodo dragon. With Bruno Kirby, Penelope Ann Miller and Bert Parks. Yes, that Bert Parks. Directed by Andrew Bergman.
THE JACKAL (1997)
When a deadly and faceless international assassin (Bruce Willis) eludes the best efforts of the FBI, they must turn to the only man who has ever seen him-- an imprisoned IRA terrorist (Richard Gere). With Academy Award winner Sidney Poiter, this glob trotting action thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat!
LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS (1998)
Four East end lads (Jason Flemyng, Dexter Fletcher, Nick Moran, and Jason Statham) try to get sumfin' for nuffin' by entering a high-stakes mobster card game, but soon find themselves half a million pounds in debt to "Hatchet Harry," local gang-land boss. Tangling those around them in a net of coincidence and misunderstanding, our four heroes must avoid a sure fate of finger amputation-- or worse! Outlandishly funny, "Snatch" director Guy Ritchie delivers fun, hip comedy.
MARATHON MAN(1976)

NO MERCY (1986)
When his partner gets bumped off, clues lead a Chicago cop (Richard Gere) to N'awlins bayou country, where he mixes it up with criminals, Cajuns and crocodiles. Things really get steamy when gorgeous Gere ends up handcuffed to bodacious Kim Basinger. Steamy, crawfish-out-of-water noir will have you hooked.
THE SICILIAN (1987)
Fascinating stuff for film buffs, based on Mario Puzo's follow-up novel to "The Godfather." The story details the exploits of Salvatore Giuliano (Christopher Lambert), an outlaw determined to bring his native Sicily independence from Italy. All references to the Corleone family were dropped from the screenplay for legal reasons, but it's still an offer you shouldn't refuse. Directed by Michael Cimino.
THE SIEGE (1998)
Harrowing political thriller depicts the US government rounding up Arab-Americans after a series of terrorist attacks rock New York City. Interestingly, this "what if" was released pre-9/11, yet its themes-and warnings-remain as timely, and as thought-provoking, as ever. With Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, Bruce Willis and Tony Shalhoub. Directed by Edward Zwick.
